What exactly are age spots, and why did they suddenly appear on my face in my 40s?
Newve ClinicAge spots (solar lentigines) are flat brown marks caused mainly by long-term sun exposure, so they often become more noticeable from your 30s–40s. They are usually harmless, but we always confirm the type of pigment in person before recommending treatment.
I have several brown age spots on my cheeks. Do you remove them with laser or electrocautery, and how much downtime should I expect?
Newve ClinicBoth laser and electrocautery (a light surface ablation) are used for age spots; the choice depends on the spot's depth and your skin type. Small spots often need a single session with a few days of light scabbing before the skin settles. We confirm the method and downtime at an in-person consultation.
You use Pico laser for pigment — does the same laser remove tattoos?
Newve ClinicPico-type lasers are used for both pigment and tattoo ink, though tattoo removal generally needs more sessions and different settings. We assess the tattoo's ink and depth before estimating a plan.
